Review: VB Cosmetics Abrione Red Wine Masque and Essential Oil

Face masques come in a variety of forms such as powders, liquids, pastes. Some can even be made using ingredients from your own kitchen. As a vegan, I tend to avoid popular home masques made from eggs or honey, so I often opt for store-bought varieties.  I recently tried a couple of products from VB Cosmetics' Abrione line, which combine to create a very simple and effective facial treatment: the Red Wine Masque and Red Wine Essential Oil.

Pros:
  • Skin felt tight and smooth after mask
  • Easy to use
  • Pleasant fragrance (reminded me of cranberries)
  • Simple, natural ingredients
Cons:
  • Some parts of mask took a bit of scrubbing to remove
Summary:
I prepared my facial treatment from a mixture of the Red Wine Masque and the Red Wine Essential Oil.  When prepared as directed, it has the consistency of canned cranberries and a pleasant fragrance.  It works well as a treatment and was easy to clean up after mixing in a shot glass.  However, it did take a bit of scrubbing to remove some of the masque from my face.  One suggestion I'd offer is to make it slightly easier to wash off once the treatment is complete.  Also, the price is a bit steep if buying both items, so I'd love to see a sample set offered.  It would also be great to see a "no animal testing" claim (or ideally a certification) on the site as well.
