Review and Giveaway: Wen Cleansing Conditioner

I'd heard of Wen before, and I was skeptical of it because it was marketed as a type of miracle product. The website is full of before and after images similar to makeover shows or weight loss programs. However, it was also marketed as a natural product, so I wanted to see for myself if it was worth the hype.

Pros:
  • Best shampoo/conditioner I've used
  • Actually detangled hair
  • Cleansed hair as well as conditioned
  • Nice texture (resembles a conditioner)
  • Lovely almond mint scent
Cons:
  • Hard to find in stores
Summary:

I was surprised by how well Wen performed, especially considering it was an all-in-one product. I have never seen a shampoo/conditioner that could actually leave my hair clean, conditioned, and less tangly than it was before. However, Wen is fairly expensive and requires a different type of application process. The application involves splitting your hair into sections to ensure it is properly cleansed. I had to use a fair amount on my long hair if I followed the directions, but I was happy with the results. I should note that my hair is generally in very good condition so I wasn't expecting a "miracle makeover," but I do think it works better than most shampoos and conditioners.

I would recommend this product to those looking to try something different. This shampoo/conditioner combination saves much time considering the application process, but it can reduce clutter in the shower. If I were to improve this product, I would consider offering a more traditional sales model and possibly sell it in stores. Also, I would try to make the formula a little safer and more natural, as it contains a couple of ingredients that rate around a 6 on the EWG database.
