Review: Gabriel Cosmetics Dual Powder Foundation

Natural powders are most commonly loose powders, as no binding agents have to be added.  However, I prefer pressed powders because they are much easier to use, especially in a my kit.  A simple swirl of the powder brush will get the perfect amount; no tapping or shaking is necessary.  I was really looking forward to trying Gabriel's Dual Powder Foundation, a medium-coverage, matte powder.

Pros:
  • Light, silky texture
  • Can be applied wet or dry depending on desired coverage
  • Great color range, especially for the fair
  • Nicely packaged
  • Provides light sun protection
  • True matte coverage
Cons:
  • Darker shades are limited
Summary:
Gabriel's powder foundation is a great option, as it works well over liquid foundations, tinted foundations, or even light concealers. I prefer matte foundations such as this one and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a dependable pressed powder. It is moderately priced at just over $26, but it will last a long time. The color range is also good, but I'd advise testing it in a store such as Whole Foods to get a good match. I'd love to see an even darker shade in the future and perhaps a compact marked for easy recycling.
