Review: Chocolate Sun Marigold Moisturizer for the Face SPF 30

Sometimes natural products come from unexpected places. This was certainly the case for Chocolate Sun's Marigold Moisturizer for the Face. I had heard of the brand online, but I had no idea that it was created by a sunless tanning company in Santa Monica, California. Who knew that there was a company making natural products right around the corner from my former home?

Pros:
  • Non-greasy
  • "Sunscreen smell" is very light
  • Provides adequate SPF for daily protection (30)
  • Multi-tasking moisturizer (includes SPF)
  • Free of parabens and harsh chemicals
  • Contains many organic ingredients
Cons:
  • May be hard to find in stores
Summary:
Chocolate Sun's Marigold Moisturizer for the Face is a nice light sunscreen suitable for daily use. There is a light fragrance that reminds me of citrus or flowers. The formula itself absorbs quickly and won't leave your skin feeling greasy. It rates about a 4 on the EWG Skin Deep database, mainly due to the inclusion of Octinoxate (sunscreen). With the removal of this ingredient, this would likely be an even safer sunscreen. However, if you're looking for a nice, mild facial sunscreen, this is definitely much better than conventional alternatives and would suit a wide variety of skin types.

Ordering note: While Chocolate Sun expects to have online ordering available soon, this product can be purchased by calling the company directly at 800-350-0980.
