Reviews: Skin Blossom/Organic Bloom Cleanse and Nourish Body Wash

It's always fun to try products from "across the pond," or those from Europe. While policies can differ slightly, organic and natural certifications are often more strict than in the U.S. Skin Blossom, a company based in the U.K., has a line called Organic Bloom and I recently tested their Cleanse and Nourish Body Wash.

Pros:
  • 74% organic
  • Light, fruity fragrance
  • Lathers nicely
  • A little goes a long way
  • Great gel consistency
Cons:
  • May be hard to find in U.S.
Summary:
If you are based in the U.K. and looking for a vegan body wash, the Skin Blossom Organic Bloom Cleanse and Nourish body wash is a nice option. While there are many retailers selling this product across the U.K. and a few scattered throughout the world, those of us in the U.S. may have better luck with mail order. The price is reasonable (especially if you are paid in pounds), even with shipping.

I love how the wash is 74% organic and made with fairly gentle ingredients. This product rates about a 3 on the EWG Skin Deep database, which is weighted more heavily by the benzyl alcohol and limonene. (The updated version is a 3 on the scale as well, due to these same ingredients.) However, it's a nice body wash and I'd recommend it for anyone looking for a good vegan alternative to conventional body washes.

UPDATE: This review is for an older version of the product. The new product can be found here. As stated above, the newer version appears to rate about the same in terms of safety. I have not tested it myself, so I can't speak for the performance, but my guess is that it would have a similar (if not better) qualities than the previous version.
