Review: Jurlique Rose Shower Gel

Australian products are often overlooked in the search for natural beauty products in the U.S., as few Aussie companies have a presence here in the states. One company, Jurlique, has obtained a foothold on the market here by offering distribution through companies such as Sephora. I put Jurlique's Rose Shower Gel to the test to see how it matches up to the American competition.

Pros:
  • Pleasant flowery fragrance
  • Left skin feeling soft
  • A little goes a long way
  • Lathers well
  • Available in retail stores around the world
Cons:
  • Fairly expensive for a shower gel
Summary:
The rose shower gel performed quite well, lathering as I expected, and offering a pleasant fragrance that faded gently after my shower. I was surprised to see it ranked fairly high on EWG's Skin Deep scale, scoring a 6 due to fragrance as well as multiple ingredients that ranked in the 3-4 range. It is not vegan due to the use of honey. While I enjoyed the performance of this product and was glad to see that it avoided many chemicals found it the drugstore competitors, I would love to see it reformulated to be gentler and vegan-friendly.
