Review: Olympian Labs Chocolate Pea Protein

I really enjoy being active, and I'd love to build more lean muscle without overdosing on soy. I've done a lot of research lately into vegan athletes, and I stumbled across vegan strength coach Mike Mahler's recommended proteins: rice and pea. That is how I found Olympian Labs' Chocolate Pea Protein.

Pros:
  • Very high in protein (25g per serving)
  • Smells like chocolate cake
  • Has a mild flavor
  • Mixes well into smoothies
  • Relatively affordable plan-based protein
  • Easy on the stomach
Cons:
  • Might not be available locally
Summary:
I've been using this protein, in combination with Sun Warrior Chocolate Protein powder, to make a smoothie each morning packed with 30 grams of protein (as an experiment inspired by the Four Hour Body). I have to admit, I do feel less hungry throughout the day. With Olympian Labs' 25 grams of protein per scoop, it's much easier than I thought to get a protein-packed breakfast smoothie. The only item I would change would be to offer an organic version. However, I plan to continue using it for some time, and it's nice to have another good option for getting protein, especially if I'm away from home.
