Review: Physician's Formula Organic Wear Lash Boosting Mascara

When I am asked about some of the best drugstore mascaras, sometimes I am conflicted. There is one brand (E.L.F.) that offers vegan products that are fairly gentle, but the ingredients are hard to pronounce. Then there is Physician's Formula Organic Wear, which offers mascaras with beeswax, but also include a few other organic ingredients. They offer several gentle mascaras, including the Organic Wear Lash Boosting Mascara.

Pros:
  • Great applicator brush
  • Attractive packaging
  • Retail availability
  • Affordable
  • Helps lashes appear thicker and fuller
  • Easy to remove
  • Gentle formula
Cons:
  • Contains beeswax (not vegan)
Summary:
I love how I can recognize most of the ingredients on an Organic Wear product label. I've tried two of their mascaras, including this one and the Natural Origin mascara, and both of them have wonderful mascara applicators. The brush is great for separating individual lashes and giving them a natural coating of color. This mascara goes beyond the natural origin mascara to provide more of a lengthening, thickening, and volumizing effect. You may have to apply several coats to see a very dramatic difference, but I definitely felt it had a bolder application from the start. I was glad to see that it rates a very low 1 on the EWG Skin Deep database. I'd love to see it in a vegan formulation. If you're looking for a gentle mascara and don't want to mail order, this is a great affordable option.
