Review: When Travel Mask

I've tried many different types of face masks, but I'd never heard of an entire mask that came in a packet. When has a variety of masks that come folded in packets, using a bio-cellulose that is soft, slippery, and white. I was excited to try one for myself. I tried the Travelmate.

Pros:

• Easy to use
• Hydrating
• No mixing
• Travels well
• Light fragrance

Cons:

• Best applied on a night in, alone

Summary:
This mask was fairly simple to use. I unfolded the pouch and peeled off the protective layers, then applied the mask to my face. It was wet and hydrating, and felt soft and cooling against my skin. The only unusual aspect is how odd it looks, when applied. We've all seen images of people with gray and green mud masks, but there is something a little frightening about seeing myself in a white sheet that resembles plastic. The mask itself was hydrating and effective, but I just recommend applying this when your man is out or with a girlfriend with a good sense of humor. When I removed the mask, my face felt moisturized, but a bit wet; it took some time for the formula to sink in. Overall, this products rates about a 4 on the EWG Skin Deep database, with the fragrance being the ingredient that weighs it down the most. If you're looking for a convenient mask for travel or something fun for a night in, this is an easy option.

UPDATE: According to a representative from When, "When products use ingredients that are not tested on animals, and are gluten-free (checked against the list available on glutenfree.com). When Travelmate, When The Last Choice and When Snow Magic do not contain any ingredients derived from animals. When 10:00 PM and When Makeup Base, however, contain collagen derived from fish scales. We plan to replace the collagen to a plant-derived one in the future."
