Review: Eco Lips One World Lip Balm

When I grew up, my mother started me using conventional lip balms, because they were all we knew. I used to despise the fake cherry and strawberry flavors, and wished for something better. Eco Lips has taken their excellent product and improved upon it by making a One World version, with fair trade cocoa butter and many organic ingredients. What follows is a review of their Relax variety (lavender/lemon).

Pros:
  • Great consistency
  • Pleasant flavor (lavender and lemon)
  • Wide enough for Jolie-style lips
  • Many organic ingredients
  • Tube made with 40% recycled material
Cons:
  • A little harder to fit in your pocket
Summary:
I really love the texture of this balm, as it is exactly what I love in a balm: firm in the tube, but buttery when applied. The flavor was a nice variation on the usual fruity/food options. This balm is quite gentle, rating just a 1 on EWG's Skin Deep database. The tube is larger than regular lip balm tubes, which helps justify the $6 price. If you have large lips, you'll find this especially useful. I haven't seen these in stores, so you may have to order online. Also, I would love if this was made vegan by removing the beeswax. If you're looking for a lip balm with a conscience, check out these One World balms.
