Restaurant Review: Austin's Bouldin Creek Cafe

Oven Cafe Breakfast with Tofu Scramble and Fruit
I had been meaning to try Bouldin Creek Cafe since a co-worker recommended it, but time passed and it slipped my mind. So when my sister suggested it, also at the recommendation of a friend, I was convinced it must be good. When I finally did get around to trying it, I ended up returning again in the same week - it really was that good!

Pros:
  • All-vegetarian but omnivore-friendly
  • Very accommodating to vegans
  • Fun South Austin atmosphere
  • Affordable prices
  • Mix of healthy and indulgence foods
Cons:
  •  Limited parking in lot
Summary:
I was so excited when I first sat down at Bouldin Creek and read the menu. There were so many delicious vegan options that it was really hard to decide what to order. They have a fun array of breakfast options, as well as salads, sandwiches, tacos, and hot dishes. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the social and environmental awareness of the restaurant. They are very accommodating to special dietary needs and the servers seemed well-informed. I was impressed with the variety of food on the menu. I was especially happy when I realized that both of the people who had recommended this restaurant were not vegetarians - they just came for the good food. The restaurant doesn't make a big deal out of the fact that it is vegetarian, which seems to help encourage omnivores to dine. The parking lot is pretty small, but there is ample street parking in the neighborhood nearby (just check the signs for legal zones to park). I highly recommend eating here, especially for brunch.
