Review: Rejuva Eye Crayon in Black Sapphire

There's something wonderful about a deep, bold black. True black eyeliners are an absolute necessity for many retro looks — gray just won't cut it. Many natural eyeliners don't have the depth of conventional alternatives, so I was thrilled to discover that Rejuva Minerals' Eye Crayon is not only a perfect black but also vegan.

Pros:
  • Deep, dark black color
  • Long-lasting
  • Can be smudged for a softer look
  • Vegan-friendly - no beeswax!
  • Affordable ($8.50)
  • Contains organic ingredients
  • Gentle ingredients
Cons:
  • Limited color selection
Summary:
Rejuva's Eye Crayon in Black Sapphire is a fantastic, bold black. Although it is not currently offered in other colors, the black can be softened by brushing colored shadows over the top. Some of my favorite layering shades are coffee brown, deep purple, inky blue, or forest green shadows.

To extend the wear of the pencil, either layer with shadow or simply wear two strokes of pencil. The deep black pencil is very versatile, as it can be softened by smudging or used in variety of ways to achieve many looks. I highly recommend it for those looking for a gentle, long-lasting pencil in a true black.
