Review: Hail Merry Macaroons

Strawberry Flavor
I enjoy having desserts, whether it's a bit of dark chocolate or occasionally something more decadent. Sometimes you just want a little something sweet and relatively healthy. Hail Merry makes delicious "dessert snack" macaroons in several tasty, gluten-free and vegan flavors.

Pros:
  • Several tasty flavors
  • Gluten-free and vegan
  • Made with simple, organic ingredients
  • Great texture
  • Dessert and/or snack
Cons:
  • A little bit expensive per serving
Summary:
I sampled the strawberry flavor, which was a fantastic blend of berry and coconut with a hint of vanilla. They were sweet but not too sweet, which was perfect for me. These macaroons have many organic ingredients. I'm not familiar with the conventional variety, so I can't compare textures, but these have a nice, chewy texture. These were located in the raw food section of my local Whole Foods, and retailed for about $4 a bag on sale. This is a bit more than some comparative snacks/treats, but it is hard to find one that is raw, gluten-free, vegan, and mostly organic for the same price. If you're looking for a healthy dessert or sweet snack, these macaroons are a tasty option.
