Review: Devita definedLines Liquid Eye Liner Pen

A fair number of companies reach out to me for reviews, so I have to choose which products I support very carefully. I love it when a company like Devita gets in touch, as they have an almost 100% vegan line (only two products have beeswax) and a wide range of well-packaged, professional-grade products. I was happy to review their Absolute Minerals definedLines Liquid Eye Liner Pen.

Pros:
  • Creates a very precise line
  • Dries quickly
  • Lasts for hours
  • Gentle formula
  • Line is available in many retail stores
Cons:
  • Pen is hard to sanitize between uses
Summary:
I loved the tip of this pen, since it was easy to create a fine line, a wing tip, or thicker lines. When applied over their eye shadow, as suggested, the pen did get a little bit shimmery (it picked up some of the eye shadow). Also, these pens tend to be hard to use as a makeup artist, as I can't easily sanitize it between clients. For personal use, it seems like it would be fine.

I looked this product up on the EWG Skin Deep database. While it didn't have the first ingredient, macromolecule plant protein, the others rated a low 1. I was glad to see that Devita products are carried in many retail locations. While you might not be able to find this specific product in your stores, the price was moderate and they seem to have sales online regularly. To note, I tried the Espresso color, which was a dark brown (almost a brown-black). If you're looking for an eye liner pen, Devita has a nice option with this gentle and easy to apply formula.
