Review: Devita Absolute Minerals Eyes Quad Pod

Pod in Coral Melange
I'm always excited when I hear about vegan pressed eye shadows. Many eye shadows create pinks and peaches using carmine, a non-vegan ingredient. Even more rare than pressed shadows are actual quads, such as the Quad Pods from Devita.

  • Convenient size
  • Dual-sized mini brush
  • Vegan formula
  • Great for travel
  • Multiple quad color sets available
  • May get expensive with shipping
Each pod measures about 2.5 inches square, so it is a nice, portable compact size. Each eye shadow tin in about the size of a dime. The colors seem to be highly-pigmented, which explains some of the price. They went on smoothly, but, as with other shadows, they wear best with an eye shadow primer.

I love how there are several different sets to choose from. I received Coral Melange to test, but the arrangement seemed better suited to someone with warm-toned skin (I have cool-toned skin). If I were to buy this, I would probably choose a set such as Platinum Smoke or Metro Neutrals. It's great how there are four colors, because several of these sets can go from day to night by going from lighter colors to darker colors in the same set.

Regarding safety, this set came in about a 3 on EWG's Skin Deep database. Overall, I was really pleased with the performance and selection. I hope to see more vegan pressed quads like this on the market in the future.

  1. Hello! Any chance you can post some pictures of the colors swatched on your hand for example? Thanks!

  2. Hi Aida,

The colors in this quad were warm and didn't look right on my cool-toned skin, so I didn't want to represent the colors poorly. However, I will certainly consider this for future reviews!
