Restaurant Review: Portland's Cafe Yumm

Yumm Bowl
On a recent trip to Portland, I wanted to visit some sights in the suburbs, especially the Beaverton area. While I was aware of great restaurants in Portland proper, I wanted to have some fun restaurant options on hand so we wouldn't have to drive far to eat good vegan food. One of the places near our sightseeing was Cafe Yumm, a mostly vegetarian restaurant with a location in Beaverton.

Pros:
  • Very accomodating for special diets
  • Offers a variety of choices for vegans and non-vegans alike
  • Quick service
  • Environmentally-friendly interior design
  • Many organic ingredients
Cons:
  • Only a few locations in the Portland area
Summary:
Tempeh Skewer
I really enjoyed my visit to Cafe Yumm. There were so many options that I almost went back a second time during my short trip. I had the nori wraps, which were a bit like Asian-style fajitas (assemble yourself) along with the tempeh skewer. My guy had the Yumm Bowl, which he loved. There is quite a variety on the menu, and the restaurant is designed to be very eco-friendly, which is a huge plus for me. I appreciated the vegan-friendly menu and gluten-free options as well. The prices are reasonable, and the service is fast. When we went, the Beaverton location wasn't very crowded and also offered outdoor seating. I'd love to see more locations in the Portland area, as it looks like the majority are spread across the state in cities like Eugene and Corvallis. If you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend Cafe Yumm.
