Review: Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics Liquid Foundation

Liquid foundations can be great for mature and dry skin, as they provide more moisture than powders and creams. If you skin is really dry, you might find that some liquids aren't hydrating enough. While I recommend moisturizer and primer before foundation for any skin type, there are foundations designed to provide more moisture, such as Youngblood's Liquid Mineral Foundation.

Pros:
  • Hydrating formula
  • Pleasant fragrance from essential oils
  • Convenient pump bottle
  • Provides light to medium coverage
  • Available in warm, cool, and neutral shades

Review: Beauty Without Cruelty Ultimate Natural Liquid Foundation

Fair shade
One of my favorite types of foundation is liquid. They tend to last longer than powders and have a more natural look than creams, while still layering well with other products, such as primers and cream blushes. Beauty Without Cruelty makes a line of liquid foundations that provide light, natural-looking coverage.

Pros:
  • Lightweight formula
  • Blends well
  • Easy pump applicator
  • Creamy texture
  • Moisturizing
  • Gentle ingredients

Review: Gabriel Moisturizing Foundation and Zuzu Luxe Oil-Free Liquid Foundation

I've come to prefer liquid foundations to powders because they are moisturizing and often multi-task as sunscreens for the face. Gabriel foundations are some of my favorites, as they make a great shade for people like me with very fair skin. They also offer a wonderful shade for those with darker skin tones, and a nice range in between. Even better, Gabriel's cosmetics are suitable for vegans and made with high-quality natural ingredients. This review will cover their two liquid foundations, Gabriel Moisturizing Liquid Foundation and Zuzu Luxe Oil-free Liquid Foundation..

Pros:
  • Available in many retail stores, such as Whole Foods
  • Contain UVA/UVB SPF 18
  • Mild, natural ingredients
  • Gluten-free and vegan
  • Broad color range

Pros:
  • Long-lasting
  • Contains organic ingredients
  • More coverage than a tinted moisturizer
  • Creamy consistency
  • Convenient pump bottle

Review: Dr. Hauschka Translucent Make-up

I first read about Dr. Hauschka when I was a teenager. I'd heard that Julia Roberts was a fan, and I was interested in trying it. Unfortunately, their cosmetic line was out of my budget at the time. I was glad to run into a rep from Dr. Hauschka at my local Whole Foods, who kindly offered me samples for review. One sample was Dr. Hauschka Translucent Make-up, which is a liquid foundation.

Pros:
  • Pleasant fragrance
  • Applies evenly
  • Blends well with other makeup
  • Moisturizing formula
  • Free of synthetic preservatives and scents
  • Available in several retail stores

Review: Ecco Bella FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation SPF 15

Ecco Bella was one of the first brands that I discovered during my search for cruelty-free cosmetics. Although they are not entirely vegan, they offer many vegan and gluten-free products. I was looking forward to trying out their foundation, as it seemed like a successful, well-established company like Ecco Bella would have a good option. I was not disappointed by their FlowerColor Natural Liquid Foundation SPF 15.

Pros:
  • Light/medium finish great for daily use
  • Great liquid texture
  • Mild scent
  • Provides broad spectrum SPF 15 (UVA/UVB)
  • Available in many colors
  • Contains organic ingredients
