Review: Raw Elements Eco Formula SPF 30+ Broad Spectrum Sunscreen

I haven't seen many water-resistant, chemical-free sunscreens on the market. Out of those, even fewer are certified organic, offer simple ingredients, and are biodegradable. It may seem like a hefty list of requirements, but one sunscreen has risen to the challenge: Raw Elements Eco Formula SPF 30+ Broad Spectrum Sunscreen.

Pros:
  • Provides broad spectrum protection
  • Biodegradable and reef safe
  • Very water resistant
  • Great for athletes who spend a lot of time outside
  • Mild smell (fragrance-free)
  • Certified organic
Cons:
  • May need to reapply often for maximum protection
Summary:
Raw Elements sunscreen is a nice alternative to conventional sunscreens and is made with some great ingredients.  The formula is thick, which means it's easier to get the right coverage.  However, it can be hard to spread, especially if you forget to shake and knead the tube before application, as stated in the instructions.  Regardless, it is a nice sunscreen for those looking to be active outdoors, particularly at the beach.  I would love to see a version without beeswax that would be suitable for vegans.
