Review: By Nieves The Balm

When I grew up, I never used body moisturizers. We lived in a rainy Oregon and I rarely had dry skin. That all changed when I moved to drier climates. I was surprised when I got all sorts of abrasions and papercuts on my fingers due to the lack of moisture. I needed something stronger than lotions or common hand creams. I soon ventured into the world of balms, such as the vegan balm from By Nieves.

Pros:
  • Multi-tasking product (tames flyaways, works as a lip balm, moisturizes elbows and knees, etc.)
  • Pleasant fragrance suitable for both men and women
  • A little goes a long way
  • Contains organic ingredients
  • Great buttery texture
  • Safe to use anywhere on the body
Cons:
  • May be hard to find locally outside of California
Summary:
By Nieves The Balm is a very unique product, as it is one of the only body balms I've found that does not contain beeswax. It is the texture of butter at room temperature and melts quickly on the skin. Once applied, it becomes oily and is easy to spread. The scent is a nice blend of essential oils that should please almost anyone. I highly recommend this balm to those looking for an all-purpose balm or any who wish to simplify their beauty routine.
