Review: Yes to Cucumbers Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes

I swear by a good skin care routine, but there are some days that I just don't want to wash, tone, treat, and moisturize before I go to bed. Fortunately, some skin care companies have found a way to cater to traveling, exhausted, or lazy people by offering a way to wipe away makeup. Yes to Cucumbers has Hypoallergenic Facial Towelettes made just for this purpose.

Pros:
  • Light, fresh scent
  • Made from biodegradable, FSC-certified fabric
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Many gentle ingredients
  • Affordable
  • Available in many retail stores
Cons:
  • Fragrance may irritate some skin
Summary:
These towelettes are an easy way to remove makeup, especially foundation and sunscreen. They seem fairly effective at removing gentle eye makeup as well, although a more traditional makeup remover may be required for waterproof or intense eye makeup. The size was generous, and the scent was pleasant but not overpowering. This product rated a 3 on EWG's Skin Deep database, which appears to be weighted by the inclusion of fragrance. However, the ingredients do not specify whether this is a natural or synthetic fragrance, so the EWG may be accurate in this rating. If you're looking for a makeup remover wipe at a drugstore, Yes to Cucumbers offers one of the gentlest options.
